WELCOME TO OUR

PARENTS' CORNER

If you are reading this, you are probably concerned about your child's literacy skills. First of all, great job mom and dad. Often, parents are the first to notice when something seems amiss.

You may have a ton of questions, or you may not know what questions to ask at the moment. No matter how you're feeling, know that you are not alone. I have been in your shoes. I've put together some resources that helped me, and I hope you also find them beneficial.

Warning Signs of Dyslexia Questionnaire

Reading Time

In a Nutshell...

  • Take our dyslexia warning signs questionnaire.

  • If multiple boxes are checked, have your child screened and/or evaluated for dyslexia.

  • If your child has dyslexia, he or she will need a multi-sensory, structured, systematic language approach to remediation.

Parents are often the first to realize that something is amiss. Advocate for your child!

Check out suggested accommodations on the teacher tab. Choose what will work for your child and ask for them to be implemented. Accommodations are not "cheating." They help level the playing field.
